Corporate weight-loss wellness program

Excess weight and related metabolic conditions drive a meaningful share of employer health spending through higher claims, more sick days, and reduced productivity. A structured, physician-led weight-loss benefit gives Illinois employers a way to support employee health with real clinical oversight rather than an app and a shipped vial. ThinFast MD has provided physician-supervised medical weight loss since 1984, and our corporate and employer wellness programs bring that same in-person model to your workforce across our Hinsdale, Arlington Heights, Brookfield, and Rockford locations.

What is a corporate weight-loss wellness program?

A corporate weight-loss wellness program is an employer-sponsored benefit that gives your employees access to medically supervised weight management as part of your broader health and wellness offering. With ThinFast MD, that means each participating employee is evaluated and treated by a physician-led team under our medical director, Dr. Ehtesham Ghani. Depending on what is clinically appropriate, an employee’s plan may include GLP-1 medications, appetite-suppressant options, meal-replacement programs, lipotropic/B12 injections, and ongoing nutrition counseling — all used together with diet, exercise, and medical supervision. Individual results vary, and medication is prescribed only when clinically appropriate after an exam.

Why should an Illinois employer offer a medical weight-loss benefit?

Obesity is associated with higher rates of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, and the CDC has estimated obesity-related medical costs in the tens of billions of dollars annually in the United States. For an employer, that translates into claims, absenteeism, and turnover. A physician-led benefit can help employees address weight and the metabolic conditions tied to it — including prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, PCOS, thyroid concerns, and the changes that come with menopause and aging — in a clinically responsible way. We do not promise specific savings or outcomes; what we offer is a credible, measurable, physician-supervised program your team can actually use locally, in person, across four Illinois sites.

How is this different from mail-order and telehealth-only programs?

Many corporate “GLP-1 benefits” are telehealth-only: an employee fills out a form online and a prescription ships. ThinFast MD is built around an in-person physician exam — history and physical, labs, EKG when indicated, and a metabolism review — so treatment is grounded in each person’s actual health picture rather than a questionnaire. That matters for employees with diabetes, thyroid/Hashimoto’s, cardiovascular history, or who are over 50. For teams that want convenience too, we also offer telehealth and online consults that connect back to a real clinic and a real chart, and our GLP-1 and semaglutide options are managed by the same physician team. The in-person foundation is the difference between a shipping subscription and supervised medical care.

What treatment options can employees access?

Each employee’s plan is individualized, but the toolkit our physicians draw from includes compounded semaglutide and brand Wegovy and Ozempic; tirzepatide (Zepbound and Mounjaro); phentermine and other appetite suppressants such as phendimetrazine, diethylpropion, and metformin; OPTIFAST and OptitrimMD meal replacement; lipotropic and B12 injections; nutrition counseling; and support for pre- and post-bariatric patients. GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide have shown meaningful average weight reduction in clinical trials — for example, the manufacturer-sponsored STEP trials for semaglutide and the SURMOUNT trials for tirzepatide reported average reductions in the roughly 15%–22% range over the study periods, used alongside diet and exercise (see FDA prescribing information for Wegovy and Zepbound). These are study averages, not promises; individual results vary, and every medication is used with diet, exercise, and medical supervision. These medications are not right for everyone: GLP-1 medications carry a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors and are not appropriate for people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2, and phentermine-class appetite suppressants require cardiovascular screening. That is exactly why our in-person history, physical, labs, and EKG-when-indicated come first.

How are outcomes measured for the employer?

Because care is physician-led and chart-based, we can track meaningful clinical markers over time at the individual level — weight, BMI, and metabolic measures reviewed during follow-up visits. For employers, we can structure de-identified, aggregate program participation and engagement reporting so you can see uptake across your team while protecting each employee’s privacy. We design the reporting framework and cadence with you during program setup. We do not share individual medical information with employers.

How do we set up a program for our company?

Setup starts with a consultation between your HR or benefits team and our staff. We review your goals, the size and location of your workforce, and how you want to offer access — on-site-adjacent visits at our four Illinois clinics, telehealth and online consults, or a blend. We then design enrollment, scheduling, and reporting around that. Pricing and any insurance coordination are reviewed at consultation; we do not quote a fixed dollar figure on this page because programs are scoped to each employer. To start the conversation, call ThinFast MD at (708) 485-4050.

Frequently asked questions

Can employees use GLP-1 medications like semaglutide through a corporate program?

Yes, when clinically appropriate. After a physician exam, employees may be prescribed GLP-1 options such as semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic) or tirzepatide (Zepbound/Mounjaro), used with diet, exercise, and medical supervision. Medication is prescribed only when appropriate for the individual, and results vary.

Is employee medical information shared with our company?

No. Individual medical details stay between the employee and our clinical team. Employers can receive de-identified, aggregate participation and engagement reporting designed during program setup.

Do employees have to visit a clinic in person?

Our model is built around an in-person physician exam at our Hinsdale, Arlington Heights, Brookfield, or Rockford locations, which supports safer, more individualized care. We also offer telehealth and online consults connected to the same physician team for added flexibility.

How much does a corporate weight-loss program cost?

Programs are scoped to each employer based on workforce size, location, and access model, so pricing and any insurance coordination are reviewed at consultation. Call (708) 485-4050 to discuss a plan for your team.

How much weight do GLP-1 medications help people lose?

In manufacturer-sponsored clinical trials, average reductions for semaglutide (STEP) and tirzepatide (SURMOUNT) fell roughly in the 15%–22% range over the study periods, used with diet and exercise (see FDA prescribing information). These are study averages, not guarantees, and individual results vary.

Which Illinois locations can employees use?

ThinFast MD has four Illinois clinics — Hinsdale, Arlington Heights, Brookfield, and Rockford — and the Rockford location also offers med spa services. Employees can be matched to the most convenient site during enrollment.

Medical weight-loss medications and programs are prescribed only when clinically appropriate following a physician evaluation, and are used together with diet, exercise, and ongoing medical supervision.
