If you live or work in Schaumburg and you are tired of programs that never look past the number on the scale, ThinFast MD offers a different path. We have practiced physician-supervised medical weight loss since 1984, and we serve Schaumburg residents from our nearby clinic in Arlington Heights. There is no ThinFast MD clinic inside Schaumburg itself, but for most of the village the trip is short and familiar: head east on Golf Road (Route 58) or jump on I-90 eastbound, and you can usually reach us in roughly 15 to 20 minutes. If you can make it to Woodfield Mall, you are most of the way to a real doctor’s office for your weight-loss care.
Does ThinFast MD serve Schaumburg, IL?
Yes. Schaumburg is one of the closest communities to our Arlington Heights clinic, and we treat patients from across the village. Whether you are coming from the office parks along the I-90 corridor, the neighborhoods around Woodfield Mall and The Streets of Woodfield, or the quieter residential pockets off Schaumburg Road, you are only about nine miles from our practice. For most residents the simplest route is east on Golf Road (Route 58), or I-90 eastbound toward Route 53, then south to Algonquin Road. Our office is at 135 E. Algonquin Rd, Suite A2, Arlington Heights, IL 60005, just east of the Route 53 interchange.
Why see a physician in person instead of ordering online?
Schaumburg is a major retail and commerce hub, so it is no surprise that mail-order and telehealth-only weight-loss companies aggressively target the area. The problem is that real, lasting weight loss is medicine, not a subscription box. At ThinFast MD, you are examined in person by a physician-led team. Dr. Ehtesham Ghani is an Internal Medicine and Bariatric Medicine physician and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP). That hands-on exam matters because excess weight often travels with conditions such as PCOS, type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, thyroid disorders, and the metabolic shifts of menopause. We screen for these, review your labs and medications, and build a plan around your body, not a generic algorithm.
What weight-loss options can Schaumburg residents get?
Our care is comprehensive and always delivered with diet, exercise, and ongoing medical supervision. Options we offer include compounded and brand-name semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic), as well as tirzepatide (Zepbound and Mounjaro). In clinical trials, semaglutide was associated with average total body weight loss of about 15% in the STEP program, and tirzepatide with roughly 15% to 21% in the SURMOUNT trials, though individual results vary. We also provide phentermine and other appetite suppressants, OPTIFAST and OptitrimMD meal-replacement programs, lipotropic and B12 injections, a dedicated adolescent program, pre- and post-bariatric support, and one-on-one nutrition counseling.
A quick note on the medications: Wegovy and Zepbound carry FDA approval for chronic weight management, while Ozempic and Mounjaro are approved for type 2 diabetes and are used off-label for weight loss under physician guidance. We will explain which option fits your health profile during your visit.

How do I get started, and what does it cost?
