See a realistic date for your goal — and the two milestones along the way that actually change your health, long before you reach the finish line.
Your milestones
Why 5% matters more than most people think
People often set an all-or-nothing goal and miss that the health returns arrive early. Research on weight management consistently finds that a loss of just 5% of body weight produces measurable improvements in blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol — and at 10%, the improvements are larger still, including in conditions like obstructive sleep apnea.
That means the first stretch of the journey is doing real work for your health, even though the mirror has barely changed. It’s also why we mark those two points on your timeline.
On pace: about 1–2 lb per week is the range generally considered safe and sustainable without supervision. Faster is possible under medical monitoring — that’s what a supervised programme is for — but going fast on your own tends to cost muscle and rebound.
Educational tool — not medical advice, and not a promise of results. This is a straight-line projection. Real weight loss is not linear: it is usually faster at the start, slows as your metabolism adapts, and plateaus happen to almost everyone. Your results depend on your health, medications and circumstances.
